For new parents, nothing is more special than their new baby. And what better way to preserve the memories than by taking baby pictures. Here are some ideas for posing your new baby or child for their baby pictures.

Recreate Photos of Previous Generations

If you look through photos of when you were a child, you might find some interesting pictures in there. If your parents happened to keep the clothes you wore in some of your baby pictures, perhaps you can dress your child in the same clothing and try to pose them in the same way. Maybe there are pictures of your parents as children, laying next to a stuffed animal or other keepsake. By recreating photos of previous generations, you'll be preserving memories that will mean a lot to everyone.

Use Fabrics as Backdrops and Veils

Posing your baby can be quite tasking, but it can be made much easier if you use items that you're comfortable with. If you have a supportive pillow, you can drape it in your favorite baby bedding and place the child on top. You can also use fabrics to line other items, such as wicker baskets and wash basins, so that your child is comfortable and supported. If someone made a blanket for baby, this is a great opportunity to say thank you to them. Have your baby's photo taken with the blanket and send it to the person who made the blanket with a thank you card.

With children, you want to capture the small things - the things that will change in the blink of an eye. Show how small your newborn is by contrasting their little hand in yours or by holding your baby in arms, showing just your arms. Highlight the dimples on their knuckles and the innocence in their eyes. Babies change nearly every day, and you'll want to preserve these memories. By paying attention to the smallest of details, you'll forever be able to remember how cute they used to be.
